Dead Sara is by far my most favorite band at the moment. I first saw the band from Los Angeles when they opened for Muse back in 2013 and fell head over heel for the band. Since then, I have caught them in concert 5 times and they are truly amazing!! Emily Armstrong, the lead singer of Dead Sara, have a sultry, bluesy, and yet rock voice that will swirl in your head and pound deeply into your soul. Siouxsie Medley, lead guitarist, is a pure joy to watch live. You will be mesmerised by just how talented and truly gifted she is with a electric guitar.
The song “Mona Lisa” is the first single off their upcoming album “Pleasure to Meet You“. I really like this song the very first time I heard it when they previewed it at a local concert. Is it catchy? Very. Is it different? Very much so. But what I love most of this song is just how different it is from their last self-titled album “Dead Sara”. The growth of the band as musicians are truly amazing. You can sense they are truly pushing the boundaries of rock, which it is really refreshing considering the state of rock these days.
